Set in Ireland, The Good Thief tells the tale of one man’s journey through the underworld of crime into redemption. Told from the point of view of one character, the audience follows him as he shares about a simple intimidation crime gone wrong, an evening that resulted in murders, kidnappings, and more. Faced with the possibility of being scapegoated for the crimes, the narrator goes into hiding. Curiously, hiding from the criminals who are worse than he is allows the central character the opportunity to reflect upon the dangers of the lifestyle he has chosen, at the same while realizing that it won’t be so easy to walk away from that lifestyle.
